GWALLA|ISSUE 12

Gwalla – Chief Executive Operator of Gwalla Music Group, was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, and started rapping at the age of nine. Growing up in the 9th ward it was easy for him to dig into the urban culture. He started the label in 2003 that helped him to sign his first deal with Good Fella Records. He survived Hurricane Katrina as he witnessed total devastation located in the Lower 9th ward watching homes and bodies float past his eyes. He moved to Houston and became familiar with well-known artists as he traveled to Atlanta and back. In that process, as an artist he signed two deals with labels from Mississippi and Louisiana. In 2016, dealing with hardships as an upcoming artist, he decided to publish his first book titled, “Field of Blood,” that’s a nonfiction memoir that’s very detailed. As an actor, he co-starred in projects with Katt Willams, AJ Johnson, and Ronaldo Ray in movies like “Treasure n da Hood.” Currently, he’s is a student at Full Sail University seeking to obtain his Bachelor’s degree for audio engineering while he’s working on his next album, “Gwallito’s Way 2”.
